L. Subramaniam
L. Subramaniam, fondly known as Anand, is the founder of ASA Pens. Having spent much of his early life in Kolkata, he later moved to Chennai and built a successful career in the service industry. At the age of 41. after almost two decades in the corporate world, he chose to follow his true passion - creating beautiful and reliable fountain pens.
“I, Subramaniam, manage ASA Pens alongside my wife, daughter and beloved artisans. My love affair with fountain pens began many years ago. One winter morning, when I was seven years old, I recieved a Wilson Pen Set as a gift, which marked the beginning of a lifelong journey.
I still remember the red-black celluloid glints, the careful strokes I spent hours perfecting on crisp paper, and the colorful inks that sparked my curiosity.
Over the years, I built a collection of pens from Artex, Writer, Camlin, Wality, Parker, Sheaffer, Lamy, Cross and Montblanc.
After many long years of a fulfilling career, I finally decided to pursue my true calling - ASA Pens.
The English Author Graham Greene once said, “My two fingers on a typewriter never connected with my brain. My hand on a pen does. A fountain pen ofcourse.” In my case fountain pens connect with my heart. Through ASA Pens, I hope to bring together many people who share the same passion, and continue building a community centred around the joy of writing.
